Poetry Reading at The Bushwick Book Club - June 19, 2021

I recently was honored by the wonderful Bushwick Book Club to read and create a new poem inspired by Brandy Schillace’s amazing and thought-provoking non-fiction book Mr. Humble & Dr. Butcher (Simon & Schuster). The event, which took place on the lower-east side and via zoom, was my first in-person reading since the beginning of the Pandemic. I wrote a new poem with the working title “In the In-between” and really enjoyed sharing it as a work-in-progress with the inspiring community of talented songwriters, videographers, chefs, and multi-genre artists participating in BBK. Reporter/Photographer Bob Krasner wrote a thoughtful review featuring a number of his exquisite photographs documenting the event.
